Federal head – tapped

It’s been a long battle with the wifi and the TV. While Josh did some great work, we didn’t get quite there. After getting an additional range extender, we bumped the home network out to the garage and created a new extended signal from the new hardware. Once we did that, we were in business. Signal is beautiful.

Along with the battle against the wifi signal, we’ve had some challenges with the fittings – hoses and fittings vary in size. So, today I took Brooke’s hair drier out to the garage and went to town. It took a good solid ninety minutes, but I managed to get some beverage lines installed.

On the 1st, I had racked both Federal Head and Lux into kegs and got both on CO2. First samples of Federal Head were good – sweet, oaky, but good. Glad I didn’t add the oak cubes to secondary – the woodiness would’ve been far too strong.

About 24 hours after doing so, I noticed a leak in Lux and pulled the gas lines off until I can figure it out. Federal Head, though, has been going well. So, now that the beverage lines are good to go, we’re in good shape.

While doing a little tasting, I logged my notes in the brew log that Brooke gave me for Christmas. A little Victory Prima Pils along the way. And now a bit of bourbon.

Cheers.
