Brooke and I dropped the table down an inch to resolve that mistake.
Then, Brooke got to work on the logo.
I added some wooden wedges to the underside of the table against the wall to give some additional support. Results were mixed. I was jerry rigging some book shelf brackets by cutting them down, drilling holes, counter sinking, and attaching. The concept was good, but the reality is I was using the wrong materials for the task. I'll need to revisit.
From there I worked to finish the backsplash. Brooke convinced me that gluing the top shelf on is a better idea than screwing it in. So, this isn't quite complete.
Once again, things don’t work out quite how they were planned. The hardware to chain the second table to the wall isn’t sized correctly – slight fault in the links – making it impossible to fit the pieces together. So, back to Lowes for a replacement…again.
Things are shaping up. The basics are nearly complete, right on schedule.
